LOS ANGELES — Streets for All PAC, focused on electing candidates who believe in prioritizing street safety and multimodal transportation, announced today that it is committing $1.2 million for an independent expenditure campaign supporting Councilmember Nithya Raman's candidacy for Mayor of Los Angeles.
The campaign will support targeted digital and streaming advertising and a billboard program running through the November 3 general election. The campaign will target voters with messaging focused on Bass’ record of failing to deliver on the basic city services Los Angeles residents depend on, and Raman’s record of leadership and results.
"Los Angeles needs a leader who will make real change on the basics we should all be able to count on: Fixing potholes in roads, working street lights that don’t take a year to fix, and showing up and doing the work that will move homeless residents into housing,” stated Michael Schneider, Founder and CEO of Streets for All.” Mayor Bass has failed to deliver on those basics, while nearly bankrupting our city with a massive vanity project to upgrade the convention center. Nithya Raman knows how to get things done; she’s reduced homelessness by 49% in her own council district while homelessness rose citywide. She has led the fight to make LA more affordable by building more housing, expanding LA’s park space, and making our streets safer and more multimodal.”
Recent polling by Streets for All PAC tracks other polls showing a neck and neck race. On the first ask Raman is leading with 38%, Bass at 32% and 30% undecided. With undecideds pushed to choose, they break evenly with Raman surging over Bass 53% to 47%. With voters looking for change, the momentum is clearly with Raman going into the final 6 weeks.
Streets for All is proud to have endorsed and supported Nithya with an IE campaign in her first run for the Los Angeles City Council in 2020, and again in her re-election in 2024. Nithya was one of the first endorsers of Measure HLA, and as Mayor would be in a position to create real change on making our streets safer, building more housing, solving homelessness, and on fiscal responsibility.
Since its founding in 2019, Streets For All has advocated for people-centric streets to reduce traffic congestion, improve safety, lower pollution, improve public health, and create a more equitable transportation network regardless of a person's race, income, zip code, or ability.
